Bikaner city was shaken on Tuesday morning by the sound of gunfire when assailants opened indiscriminate fire at the house of trader Sukhdev Chayal. The early morning attack spread fear across the locality. CCTV footage clearly shows two attackers at the scene.
The incident took place just two days after Bikaner police had seized a large cache of illegal weapons, amid fears that gangsters might soon execute a major crime. Following the attack, Additional SP Saurabh Tiwari and the FSL team reached the spot. SP Kavendra Singh Sagar said that the police are investigating the case seriously and are identifying the accused based on the footage.
What created even more sensation than the incident itself was the fact that notorious gangster Hari Boxer claimed responsibility for the shooting via a social media post. In his post, he wrote: “This was just a small warning for not answering the phone call, next time we will shoot straight in the chest.” He also mentioned Haryana’s Sunder Hansi while claiming responsibility, writing in gangster style: “Ram Ram brothers, the firing on Sukhdev Chayal was our warning. Whoever we have called, their turn will also come… Jai Balkari, Jai Shri Ram.”
Meanwhile, the Chayal family told police that they had been continuously receiving extortion threats from Rohit Godara. According to the family, Godara had demanded ₹5 crore over phone calls and is now trying to intimidate them with direct firing.
Police have taken Hari Boxer’s viral post very seriously and linked it to organized gang warfare during their investigation. FSL and police officials inspected the crime scene and collected evidence.
On the other hand, in a bid to break the financial network of these gangsters, Ganganagar police raided the houses of Lawrence Bishnoi (village Dootawali), Rohit Godara (Thana Kalu), Amit Pandit (15 Z), Kartik Jakhad, and Vishal Pachar. Police suspect the entire network spreads across the Rajasthan-Haryana border, with several gangs working together to commit crimes through extortion and threats.
This incident exposes the deep roots of organized crime in Bikaner and is a clear indication that the city is fast becoming a new hub of gangster wars.
