The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is all set to build the first temple for Lord Venkateswara in the North-East region soon.
The Government of Assam has agreed to allot 15 acres of land in Guwahati to the TTD for building the temple as well as allied infrastructure.
TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu is all set to formally call on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Friday to formalise the deal.
Mr. Naidu had already met Mr. Sarma in August this year and submitted the TTD’s proposal to consecrate a temple in Assam, as per the vision of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to build Tirumala replica temple in all the States. The Assam government had readily agreed to allocate five acres of land then. This has now been extended to 15 acres to include many other pilgrim amenities.
